SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2016 – Changed (NEW) Exam Pattern and Syllabus
Recently SSC CGL had made major changes in its exam pattern. For the first time SSC exams will be conducted online. As you know SSC CGL exam will be conducted on 17 August 2016. So take a deep go through in SSC CGL Changed exam pattern.
Staff Selection Commission conducts CGL for government jobs of Central Civil government jobs such as Tax Assistant, Statistical Officer, Inspector, Divisional Accountant, SI, Compiler and many more government jobs for which the candidate should have passed at least graduation from a recognized Institute or University with minimum passing marks.
Changes in SSC CGL exam pattern 2016
 The examination will take place in 3 Tier’s and in 4 tires for TAX ASSISTANT and Assistant Section Officer of CSS
 The 1^{st} Tier and 2^{nd} Tier will consist of Objective type paper and 3^{rd} Tier will consist of Descriptive type Questions and 4^{th} Tier will consist of Skill test as applicable according to the government jobs.
 In 1^{st} Tier the total questions would be 100 of 200 marks.
 In 2^{nd} Tier the total questions would be as per the post the candidate has applied.
 In 3^{rd} Tier the questions will be Descriptive type
 In 4^{th} Tier the Data Entry Skill test (DEST) and Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) will occur only for TAX ASSISTANT and Assistant Section Officer of CSS
EXAM PATTERN OF TIER I:
 The mode of examination is Computer Based
 The subjects will be General Intelligence and Reasoning – 25 questions of 50 marks.
 General awareness – 25 questions of 50 marks.
 Quantitative aptitude 25 questions of 50 marks.
 English Comprehension25 questions of 50 marks.
 The total time allotted for this examination is 75 minutes ( additional time for VH candidates)

EXAM PATTERN FOR TIER IV
 For the post of TAX ASSISTANT, DATA ENTRY SPEED TEST (DEST) at 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Depression per hour on Computer
 “DES” Skill Test of 2000 words key depressions for 15 minutes will be considered as qualifying
 Computer will be provided at the centers.
 Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) will be held for the post of Assistant Section Officer of CSS
 It will consist of 3 steps: Spread Sheet ,Generation of Slides and Word Processing
 CPT will also be of qualifying nature.
